| Data | Why we hold it | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Email, first name | Delivering the brief; your ledger record | Contract |
| Seat (role), sector | Reading the brief through your lens | Contract |
| Decision context (optional free text) | Weighting what reaches you — never shown to anyone | Consent |
| Company domain & goals (Insider only) | Training your private model and preparing your Context Overview | Contract |
| Billing details (Insider only) | Your subscription — taken by Paddle, our merchant of record; we never see or store card numbers | Contract |
| Open/read events | Knowing what serves members, in aggregate | Legitimate interest |
Marketing beyond the briefings you signed up for happens only with separate, explicit consent — and we currently send none.
Each processes data under contract, only on our instruction. No data leaves this list without this page changing first.
If you subscribe to Insider, the context you give us — your company domain, your goals, your questions — is used to train your private model and curate your briefings. It is never pooled across members, never used to train models for anyone else, and never shared. Cancel, and it is deleted with the rest of your record.
For as long as you hold a place on the ledger. Unsubscribe and your delivery data goes immediately; your ledger record is erased in full within 30 days unless you ask us to keep your number reserved. Billing records are retained only as long as tax law requires, then destroyed.
Enter the email your place is held under and choose what you'd like. Every briefing also carries a one-click unsubscribe — this page is simply the front door.
Insider subscribers: cancelling your subscription is separate from erasure and takes effect at the end of the paid period — manage it any time from the link in your briefings (Paddle billing portal), or simply ask: payments@thedailybrief.ai.
The site sets no tracking cookies and no third-party cookies. That is why there is no cookie banner. If this ever changes, this page changes first and consent is asked properly.
When this notice changes, members are told in the brief itself — not by a silent edit. The current version always lives at this address.
